The Queen Charlotte Track

The Queen Charlotte Track

Marlborough

Fit for a Queen

From Ship Cove to Anakiwa, the Queen Charlotte Track, a 71-kilometre tramp through the beautiful the Marlborough Sounds, takes around four to five days to hike.

Renowned for its stunning coastal views, historic landmarks and wonderful variety of native bush and wildlife, this tramp is as much about a walking holiday as it is an environmental, cultural and lifestyle experience.

The Queen Charlotte Track, a well-formed route attracting walkers from around the globe, meanders through towering native forest and regenerating bush, along ridges and beside idyllic coves.

Take a guided trip to learn more about the region’s unique flora, fauna and local Maori legends. Or if time is short, try hiking the track in sections.

Regular boat services departing from Picton connect to several entry and exit points along the Queen Charlotte Track, so you can choose to hike for half a day if you wish.

The ultimate freedom is to travel pack-free. This is easily organised, as packs can be delivered to your next night's accommodation.

No matter whether your accommodation is at a luxury lodge, homestay, backpackers or camping ground, you'll be relieved to relax your tired muscles, sip a cool reviver and watch as Marlborough's renowned sunshine slips below the horizon.
