South Africa v New Zealand Rugby Test

Otago

12th July 2008

The All Blacks will play South Africa at Carisbrook in Dunedin on July 12 in the second of two home Tri-Nations tests against the Springboks. Carisbrook is commonly known as the ‘The Brook’ or ‘House of Pain’ due to its solid reputation as a difficult ground for visiting teams. Carisbrook is one of New Zealand’s legendary grounds, with a trip to Dunedin for a rugby test weekend an iconic New Zealand experience. Dunedinites embrace the rugby test weekends and the whole city comes alive in a party atmosphere. A tent village is traditionally rigged near the game providing another venue where you can enjoy food, beverage and entertainment pre- and post match. It is 100 years since the first test match was played at Carisbrook and with the proposed new Dunedin stadium this could potentially be your last opportunity to visit ‘The House of Pain’.
