Built in 1862 by successful businessman and landowner Alfred Buckland, Highwic was home to Alfred's 21 children. Today the house is furnished with a wonderful selection of antiques, with a hectare of beautiful gardens where visitors can still enjoy croquet and a quiet stroll - including the romantic Lover's Walk.
Located in the heart of Newmarket - Auckland's premier shopping district - Highwic was built from an American house pattern based on country homes on the East Coast of the United States, and provides a refined haven of peace and beauty for visitors. Highwic is available for hire as a venue for functions and conferences.
