Fiordland is the wettest place in New Zealand; the park is a stronghold for several endangered bird species and the fiords are home to fur seals, bottlenose dolphins and several species of penguin. While most people know about the Milford Track, there are many other hiking options - the Kepler, Hollyford and Routeburn tracks are all outstanding adventures. Cruises and sea kayaking expeditions allow you to appreciate the grandeur of the fiords, mountain peaks and waterfalls. There is a wide selection of accommodation options in the Manapouri, Te Anau, Te Anau Downs, and Milford Sound area.
