Most comfortable and very well appointed cottage in an idyllic bushland setting, where the peacocks join you on the deck for breakfast. Great privacy, and very hospitable owner.
Couldn't be bettered !
A wonderful place to stay - completely secluded and set in beautiful gardens with the most fascinating bird-life. Where else could you sit at breakfast on the deck, watching a white-crested heron - high up in its huge nest in the trees, feeding its young, while a peacock in all its colourful plumage politely cleans up the crumbs under your table!
The cottage was extremely well-equipped
All this and a coffee shop/cafe right next door. Great hosts and perfect place to stay.
The feather duvet was far too hot. Alternative cotton blanket and top sheet would have been the only improvement to a first class stay.
This is a charming and very comfortable cottage in a delightful setting. Scott and Carolyn were warmly friendly and welcoming and Scott had taken the trouble to ring on the day of our arrival to ensure that he could be there to greet us. The self-served continental breakfast offered a good range of options in cereal and was spot-on as far as we were concerned.

Just an awesome relaxing place to stay. We will be booking in for our date nights. Fantastic.
No thought it was great.
The gardens were beautiful and we loved all the ducks, ducklings and peacocks which came to visit us on the verandah. The cottage was very comfortable and peaceful
Access to a washing machine would have been great. There were a few mouse droppings (which looked old) in a drawer.
A beautiful location and accommodation of a very high standard with friendly, welcoming host. The place is exactly as the brochure/website describes it - an ideal retreat for a couple seeking peace and quiet. The well-maintained gardens and abundant bird-life definitely enhance the experience.

Surrondings & ammenities
Bed was a little uncomfortable
Our stay at the Katikati Bird Gardens was very restfull the quiteness of the place added to the feeling of being at one with nature. I really liked our own private steps which lead down to the gardens.
We took our time exploring the place and seeked out all the nooks and crannies there are also ample bench seats dotted around the gardens enabling you to just sit and take it all in.
The fridge at the cottage was generously stacked.
All in all a wonderful stay and Scott a special host.
No. no negative comments.
It was great to have such a quiet, lovely place. It was peaceful and relaxing holiday and we appreciate the beautiful and well maintained garden. We even hand fed peacock and peahen on our deck in the morning! We definitely love to stay there again.
The very cosy and comfortable cottage was set in a little bit of paradise. The gardens were beautifully laid out but they also adjoined wetlands - attracting plenty of birds and wildlife - ducks and peacocks looking in at you at the door. The main problem was we did not want to leave the beautiful surrounds to do the short day trips we had planned. Our hosts were helpful and friendly but respected guests privacy. Sitting or strollling in the gardens at twilight is heaven.
