      Fern Motel offers you Family Friendly Kiwi Hospitality.
      We have 18 ground-floor units with natural surroundings. They all have fully equipped kitchens, ensuite bathrooms, heatpump/aircon & free wireless internet. So that your stay is pleasurable we provide Standard and Deluxe Studios and Family Units –the Deluxe units have been beautifully refurbished with new kitchens with dishwasher (Family Units), flat-screen TV”s, new beds, carpet, linen & modern decor. All units have secure off-street parking and their own private courtyard where you can sit outside or entertain in the BBQ area. You can watch the kids swim in the large pool and play in the children's fenced playground area. Just off the HB Expressway, Fern Motel is conveniently located between Taradale & Napier City, close to Napier Airport, Park Island Sports Complex, Pettigrew Green Arena, Onekawa Aquatic Centre & Church Road and Mission Estate Wineries.

      Was good to be able to have animals at the unit. Also was good to be able to turn off the fridge at night.

      The TV was not up to standar and had limited channels.

      Better soundproof for the room. There is noise from the main street and also could hear the tv from next room. At night, because there is no traffic, the noise from the road reduces considerably and we were lucky enough our next door neighbours didn't watch tv for too long so we could have a good sleep. Also the shower knob might need a replacement.

      We found the motel well situated in relation to the places we needed to get to. The 2 bedroom unit has recently been refurbished and was lovely and clean. The managers were very pleasant and friendly.

      Are there any improvements you would like to suggest?

      The managers need to check that all units are serviced daily. Staff came to our unit to service it late on the 2nd day when we were all there (4 of us) and although we only requested them to replace towels and basics, only towels were replaced. On the third day, we were out of the unit from 9.30am and when we returned in the early evening, the unit had not been serviced at all which was disappointing. We had to go to the office to request fresh towels and bathroom supplies - service lacking!

      A member of my family left their cellphone in the room. The motel owner was aware of our plans to visit Hastings before leaving the area, and phoned me promptly to advise, so that we could collect the phone before leaving the area.

      Made very welcome by the staff. Always keen to give easy directions to areas of the city. Helpful with appliances we could not set for ourselves. Clean linen (towels etc.) always available.

      This was the third time we have stayed at Fern over the past three years. They have upgraded the units over that time to a very high standard and are very comfortable and the charge per night is reasonable. The management are very helpful and happy to look after any query we have had.
