Abel Tasman National Park is New Zealand's smallest national park (23,000ha). The world-famous
Coastal Track opens up the park's estuaries, golden sand beaches and beautiful forested headlands.
The Coastal Track has campsites and huts (bookings for DOC huts are necessary during summer and can
be made at Nelson, Motueka and Golden Bay Visitor Information Centres) for independent walkers.
Guided walks with lodge accommodation are also available. An activity available at the southern
entrance to the Abel Tasman National Park is swimming with seals. Another great way to explore the
coast is by sea kayak (guided or independent), yacht or water taxi.
