Sky City offers a 24-hour casino and five restaurants, and is also home to Sky Jump. Shops and restaurants at the Viaduct Basin, High Street, Ponsonby, Parnell and Newmarket are popular spots to browse and eat. The Auckland City Art Gallery is New Zealand’s oldest and largest, housing its collection in two buildings. Thousands of yachts and launches are moored near the Harbour Bridge and central marinas and ferry companies offer a variety of harbour cruises and trips to the islands of the Hauraki Gulf beyond the harbour. Accommodation offered in Auckland City gives a great choice; luxury hotels, apartments, self-catering motels for individuals, families and groups, bed & breakfasts, backpacker, lodges and youth hostels for the budget conscious.
