One of the sunniest towns in New Zealand, Blenheim is Marlborough's capital. The early appearance of
the town is recreated at Brayshaw Museum Park, which is also home to the unique Vintage Car and Farm
Machinery Museums, and the Provincial Museum and Archives. Blenheim has two art galleries, a
three-theatre cinema complex, live theatre venues, and an undercover sporting complex with a heated
swimming pool. There is a golf course within the town, racecourse, skateboard park, and riverboat
cruises on the Opawa River or punting on the Taylor River from Riverside Park. Visitors can take a
tour bus, a horse and gig ride, cycle or drive around the boutique wineries and breweries, or visit
private gardens and craft studios. Walks include the Wairau Lagoon Walk and the Wither Hills
Walkway, which offers expansive views of the town and surrounding areas. Visit the Makana chocolate
factory for the ultimate chocolate experience.
