Most of the city's attractions are accessible by foot or tram. With this level of activity it is probably no surprise that Christchurch is a sought-after conference and convention venue. It is home to one of New Zealand's finest purpose-built conference centres, the Christchurch Convention Centre, which is linked by airbridge to the city's main performing arts centre, the Christchurch Town Hall. The convention centre can cater for gatherings from 10 to 2500 people, and there is a superb range of accommodation within walking distance.
