Gore: Conveniently located two hours from both Dunedin and Queenstown, Gore is the perfect stop-off to spend a couple of days exploring its surrounds. Gore is the world’s brown trout capital. From October to April the town takes on an international feel as anglers from all over the globe come to pit their skills against the wily brown trout. The town is proud of its new multi sports complex, which houses an Olympic-size ice-skating rink and swimming pool. Try your hand at curling at the ice-skating arena or experience the challenging new grade 1-2 mountain bike track through spectacular bush. Take time to stop at one of the many restaurants or cafes for some fine food.
