Haast provides easy access to pristine rainforest, lagoons and long stretches of wilderness coast,
including historical Jackson Bay. Glimpses of this wilderness can be seen at a number of short walks
and lookouts along State Highway 6. The 730m Haast River Bridge is New Zealand's longest one-lane
bridge. Activities include fishing, hunting, hiking, nature tours (penguins, seals) and scenic
