Town Info

Hastings Bed and Breakfast - Accommodation. If you are looking for comprehensive travel information for Hastings Bed and Breakfast including Bed & Breakfast, Boutique Bed & Breakfast and Self Contained Cottage, you will find it here on AA Travel.

For the traveller who wants to discover the 'real Hastings', bed and breakfasts offer the chance to do just that. What better way to immerse yourself in the Kiwi lifestyle than to be welcomed into a thoughtfully furnished home and be indulged by friendly, attentive hosts? Capture the true essence of New Zealand as you experience Kiwi hospitality first-hand. As the name suggests, bed and breakfasts usually include breakfast in their tariff, with hosts generally offering more than just coffee and toast - full English breakfasts comprising bacon, eggs and sausage are a Kiwi favourite, while continental breakfasts offer lighter choices such as fresh fruit, croissants, cereals and yoghurts. Bed and breakfasts are the ideal option if you want a little luxury and the chance to converse with others. Or why not make your next romantic escape in a cosy cottage-style B&B, where you can relax and unwind in a 'home away from home'.

Less than 20km separate the centres of Hastings and Napier, and as such the two are regarded as twin cities. However, for the purposes of local government, Hastings is actually a district, not a city. When the central business area was rebuilt after the devastating 1931 earthquake, the architectural style known as Spanish Mission arrived to give Hastings special character. Orchards are abundant beyond urban Hastings, as are vineyards. Long hot summers and mild winters contribute to perfect growing conditions. Every February the region celebrates its horticultural and viticultural heritage with the Harvest Hawke's Bay event. In September, Hastings heralds spring with a blossom festival. Accommodation of all varieties is available in Hastings; self-catering motels and lodges, holiday parks with self-catering motels, budget cabins, caravan and campsites, and backpacker accommodation in a lodge. Seasonal discount and pet-friendly accommodation may be available by arrangement.
