Kerikeri: Kerikeri is a modern bustling town with a regional airport. It is well known for its arts and crafts trail, quality shopping and numerous cafes and restaurants. Two of the biggest tourist attractions in Kerikeri are the two oldest-surviving buildings in New Zealand, Kemp House and the Stone Store (built in 1822). Explore the Historic Mission Station (established 1819), get into nature and walk amongst kauri at Puketi Forest, or go on a wine trail and taste the local vintages. Other attractions found in this Bay of Islands hotspot are the Kororipo Pa and Rainbow Falls, as well as a reconstructed Maori village. Kerikeri is surrounded by rich, fertile soil and that, along with the mild climate, ensures a lush oasis for horticultural produce. The Bay of Islands Farmer's Market runs every Sunday morning in Kerikeri.
