If you're visiting Kerikeri, your first stop should be the information centre. This will enable you to pick up all the information that you need to get the most out of your trip. i-SITES are New Zealand's official visitor centres, and there are over 80 of them throughout the country. Aside from i-SITES, there are also information centres in most towns and even in small settlements. The friendly staff at the information centres can help you find accommodation, plan tours and activities, and give you that local insight that makes all the difference. Most bookings can be made here for you, and you can pick up maps and brochures to help you plan your visit. These centres also sometimes have souvenirs for sale and internet access.

Kerikeri is a modern bustling town with a regional airport. It is well known for its arts and crafts
trail, quality shopping and numerous cafes and restaurants. Two of the biggest tourist attractions
in Kerikeri are the two oldest-surviving buildings in New Zealand, Kemp House and the Stone Store
(built in 1822). Explore the Historic Mission Station (established 1819), get into nature and walk
amongst kauri at Puketi Forest, or go on a wine trail and taste the local vintages. Other
attractions found in this Bay of Islands hotspot are the Kororipo Pa and Rainbow Falls, as well as a
reconstructed Maori village. Kerikeri is surrounded by rich, fertile soil and that, along with the
mild climate, ensures a lush oasis for horticultural produce. The Bay of Islands Farmer's Market
runs every Sunday morning in Kerikeri.
