Ngatea: Ngatea is the service centre for the Hauraki Plains, and is located on State Highway 2 (the Scenic Route). There is an Urban Heritage Trail, sports facilities, and arts and crafts outlets and a large display of gem, mineral and rock treasures for sale. The water garden at Ngatea is an interesting place to visit all year round, and stop for refreshments at the cafe.
