North Shore Motels (Self-Contained) - Accommodation. If you are looking for comprehensive travel information for North Shore Motels (Self-Contained) including Cottages, Motel and Motor Lodge, you will find it here on AA Travel.
Motel accommodation is great for independent travellers. If you like to have the option of cooking your own meals, doing your own laundry and having the essential comforts of a home while staying in North Shore, motels are the best form of accommodation. There is a huge variety of motels all around the country, from the top of the North Island to Stewart Island, and a range of prices to suit most budgets. You'll find motels in main cities, along main travelling routes and near popular tourist attractions, as well as in off-the-beaten-track scenic locations. Most motel units have self-catering facilities with fully equipped kitchens. They also have a phone, TV, tea and coffee-making facilities and a private bathroom. They have made-up beds with all bedding supplied, and car parking. Breakfast (at an additional cost) can usually be ordered the previous night for delivery to the unit if required.
North Shore is all about beach lifestyle, with an unbroken 140km of urban coastline stretching from Long Bay and Browns Bay in the north to Cheltenham in the south. The city also has high quality retail centres, attractively designed industrial parks in Albany and Wairau Park, leading educational institutions and world-class sports and cultural facilities. Good restaurants and cafes abound in Takapuna and Milford, and boutiques and the large shopping complexes in Glenfield, Takapuna and Albany provide retail therapy. Lake Pupuke is a large crater lake near Takapuna and is ideal for kayaking and sailing. North Shore visitors can indulge their interest in movies by catching a film at one of three cinema complexes at Wairau Park in Glenfield, Northcote Point and Takapuna. Sporting fixtures for rugby, rugby league and soccer are catered for at North Harbour Stadium. Hop on a ferry at Downtown Auckland to many North Shore destinations - Devonport, Northcote, Birkenhead and Bayswater. Devonport is well worth a visit with its historic man-made tunnels, created as part of Auckland's defence system, and arts and craft galleries, sidewalk cafes, elegant Victorian villas and bed & breakfast accommodation. Enjoy panoramic views of the city and gulf by climbing to the top of North Head or Mt Victoria in Devonport. North Shore has an abundance of accommodation options - quality hotels, lodges and self-catering apartments; self-catering motels; bed & breakfasts (including luxury and family friendly); and holiday parks with budget cabins and campsites for budget accommodation. Pet friendly accommodation is available by arrangement.
