New Zealand Stratford Arts & Crafts - What to See & Do. If you are looking for comprehensive travel information for Stratford Arts & Crafts, you will find it here on AA Travel.
Quirky and creative arts and crafts can be found in Stratford and throughout the country. Art is very much a part of our Kiwi culture. All of the metropolitan centres around the country have exciting public art galleries and exhibitions, as well as dealer galleries. Many regions have high concentrations of painters, craftspeople, sculptors, photographers, printers and carvers – perhaps because of the inspiring landscapes. But don’t limit yourself to just these locations; many superb pieces can be found all over the country.
Stratford: Stratford is the gateway to Egmont National Park and Mount Taranaki. The snow-capped mountain dominates surrounding native bush with 320km of scenic walkways and breathtaking views of Stratford and the western coastline. Waterfalls and streams cascade down the mountain into the Patea River, which winds through the town centre. Stratford has great parks and gardens. It also boasts New Zealand's only public glockenspiel. A range of restaurants is available as well as cafés, night entertainment and shopping. Activities include scenic flights, canoeing, horse trekking, brewery and sheepskin factory tours, the pioneer village open-air museum and the Ngaere and Hollard Gardens.
