Tauranga: Tauranga is the largest residential and commercial area of the coastal Bay of Plenty. Fertile lands and a pleasant climate make it the centre of a large kiwifruit and citrus-growing area. The newly developed waterfront has cafes, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Sulphur Point Marina, Harbour Bridge Marina and Coronation Pier offer options for swimming with dolphins. Children would enjoy a visit to an animal park, which also sells fishing licences. Wineries are a great option for relaxed dining after free wine tasting! The fish markets sell fish wholesale and retail, and also offer takeaways.
