If you are feeling energetic, take a walk up Mt Victoria. It offers excellent views of the city, Wellington harbour and Cook Strait, which separates the North Island from the South Island. On clear days you can see the South Island. There is a large array of restaurants, cafes, pubs, clubs and fast food outlets - from top quality international cuisine, through to cheap ethnic food or fish and chips on the beach.
