Hi,
Winter blues - what winter blues? In my book, winter is all about embracing the elements and enjoying all that colder weather entails - parties, delicious food and wine, soaking in hot pools, hitting the snow and visiting vibrant alpine villages are some of the great things about winter in our breathtaking country.
New Zealand has the same attitude. Far from retreating into hibernation, our country comes alive with events and festivals during winter. In this issue I'll be telling you all about our country's biggest winter party, the Queenstown Winter Festival. Those of you who can't make it there can check out my perfect remedy for winter gloominess - the ultimate midwinter Christmas party. Plus, enter to win your own amazing winter experience - Maui campervan hire, accommodation at Ohakune Top 10 Holiday Park and ski passes for Mt Ruapehu.
Go on, get out there and enjoy the winter weather!

With Jack Frost well and truly making himself known around our beautiful country, there's no better time to head to the hills for a true Kiwi snow experience.
Whatever your skills on the slopes, there's something for everyone at our world-class ski fields. From the advanced trails of Manganui and Treble Cone to the meagre mounds of Happy Valley, Footrot Flats or other beginner runs, New Zealand is a skier and snowboarder's dream.

When it's bitterly cold outside and you've had enough of being cooped up indoors, the best way to cure cabin fever is to head out to a hot pool near you for a long, therapeutic soak. New Zealand has a great range of thermal, mineral and treated hot spas, springs and pools, plus a few hidden natural hot pools waiting to be discovered.
|
To make it easy for you, I've put together a selection of some of the hot pools that our country has to offer. But don't limit yourself to this list; there are an astounding number of places out there for that lazy winter soak. A great idea is to set your sights on a secluded pool that you've never heard of and venture off on a winter road trip. Read More

It's true - no one can throw a winter party quite like Queenstown can. As winter approaches, the vibe here is building as the town gears up for the highlight of its annual calendar and the nation's biggest winter celebration, the Queenstown Winter Festival.
Head to our own winter wonderland from 26 June to 5 July and see why around 60,000 people will be doing the same. Don't forget your warm clothes, sense of humour, dancing shoes, and of course, your mardi gras costume! Read More

Tis' the season to be jolly - well not quite, but why not warm up your friends and family by pretending for a night?
